It's not really that interesting...

• There used to be a bad TV show called "The Real McCoys" years and years ago. Growing up, I dreaded hearing "The real McCoy?"(which happened WAY too often) when I gave my name to someone. I got over it when I discovered I could say "McCoy. Like the real McCoy" when people on the phone asked me to spell my name.
  
  
• I grew up in Saudi Arabia. The unit of money there is the riyal. Sadly, nobody ever asked "the riyal McCoy?" the whole time we were there.
  
  
• A group of people who I grew up in Arabia get together every two years to hang out and reminesce. As the theme for one reunion, I suggested "Reunion 1997 - A Virtual Riyality". Not everyone is as amused by bad puns as I am, it seems.
  
  
• I started thinking it was time to dump my ISP in late 1998. That meant notifying everyone I know about my new email address, which seemed like something I only wanted to do once. So I set up my own domain, which can travel with me if I change providers. When it came time to choose a name, riyality.com seemed obvious.
